I was surprised to hear that you can preload your hydration prior to a race or event by drinking a high concentration of electrolyte. It make s sense but I had never thought of it that way. I would previously thought that this would make ithe blood too thick. Interesting stuff.
Very interesting indeed. The variance in athlete’s sweat rate and sodium loss is the key to creating a personal plan and it explains why one sports drink formula doesn’t fit all needs. Thanks for the listen Patrick!
I found the podcast very, very interesting and informative. I am a “sweater” and have been wondering what are the best ways in which to handle this. I’m anxious to explore Andy’s website. Yet again, another great podcast!
Thanks! He is well researched in this area and fine tuning our hydration plan to our personal sweat and sodium losses is a game-changing strategy.
